Druids in the Cork and Kerry Mountains

We are modern druids, deeply connected to the rhythms of nature and dedicated to living and sharing the wisdom of the ancient Celtic tradition. We aim to practice Druidry as a way of life and serve the Irish community and beyond. Whether you’re exploring modern Druidry, seeking personal growth, or looking for a meaningful ceremony, we warmly invite you to join us in celebrating the wisdom and beauty of the natural world.

What is a Druid?

Druids were the spiritual advisors, healers, and philosophers of ancient Celtic communities in Ireland, the British Isles, Brittany, and northern Spain. The Romans documented them, and they traditionally served as poets, healers, celebrants, and wise guides.

Although nearly lost to persecution, the druid tradition was revived in the 17th century. Modern druids follow this path as a journey of personal growth, creativity, and connection with nature.

The Three Grades of Druidry

The path of Druidry unfolds in three distinct yet interconnected stages, each offering a unique journey of growth and connection:

Bard
The Bardic grade is a celebration of creativity and self-expression. Bards immerse themselves in storytelling, music, poetry, and ritual, using these arts to connect with nature and honour seasonal cycles. It’s a journey of inspiration, encouraging a deeper relationship with the natural world’s rhythms.

Ovate
Ovates are healers and visionaries working with nature’s wisdom and inner intuition. This grade involves exploring herbal knowledge, energy healing, divination, and connecting with other realms. Ovates embody the role of a seer and a guide, tapping into the flow of life force to bring balance and insight.

Druid
The final grade focuses on wisdom, philosophy, and embracing harmony with all aspects of Mother Earth. Druids are solitary practitioners and/or serve the community, drawing on inner strength to serve others or simply deepen their connection with nature. This stage is about integrating the lessons of the Bard and Ovate into a life of meaningful practice.

Each grade builds on the last, offering a pathway to personal transformation and a deeper connection with the world around you.
